Aloha! My name is Mridula. And today’s post is going to be my post on the last book of the Heroes of Olympus series – Blood of Olympus. So, today I am going to write the summary for the fifth book of the Heroes of Olympus series. I told you before that the overall plot of this series is confusing and so, we are taking it one book at a time. Let’s get started!

In this book, all of the seven demigods (Percy, Annabeth, Piper, Jason, Hazel, Frank and Leo) continue their journey to stop Gaia from waking up. While Nico, Reyna and Coach Hedge also embark on a journey trying to return the Athena Parthenos back to the Greek camp for demigods. Nico, Reyna and Coach Hedge also have to defend themselves against a child of Gaia who is trying to stop them from taking the statue back. On the way, the demigods also try to find a cure to save the demigod who is destined to die trying to stop Gaia when she rises. On the journey, Leo figures out who is going to die between him and Jason. Though the demigods try to stop Gaia from waking up, they fail in doing so as a little bit of blood from two demigods ( not going to name them, it should be a surprise) wakes her up. In last few chapters Zeus quickly sends the demigod’s ship back the Camp Half- Blood to fight Gaia (still never understand why can’t the Gods fight themselves). In an epic battle that follows Gaia is finally defeated, Athena Parthenos is returned and things finally become better between the roman and greek camps.
So, I actually did not enjoy this as a climax book. I guess a reason for that is Piper. Don’t take me wrong but, most of Piper’s chapters are really boring and those chapters have the most important parts of the story. Also, most of the story is literally in the middle of water bodies instead of land. Major action takes place in the last chapters unlike all the other books where there is action throughout. I can’t get enough of writing that Leo and Percy in one book together is like ‘humour overload’. This book is good but, it may bore you few times in the middle.
I still remember that after I had read this book, I wanted to desperately know my Godly parent and which character from the books do I most relate to and that is when I came over Rick Riordan’s official website. Here you can get updates about his new books or try out quizzes to test your knowledge. So click on the link below, if you want try out these quizzes. And in case you were wondering, my Godly parent is Poseidon and I relate most to Percy Jackson, when it comes to which demigod I am.
