Hey! My name is Mridula and this post starts the book summaries for a very beautiful book series. So, here we start with the briefing of the first book from one of the most fantastic book series I have ever read. The book is from The Mortal Instruments- The City of Bones. Without delays lets start this post.
This story starts with Clary Fray, a teenage girl who lives with her mother. Her best friend is Simon and her mom’s best friend is Luke. In this story Clary visits a club and sees three teenagers killing another boy however, after sometime Clary realises that she is the only who can see them. She see one of those boys in a coffee shop again but, cannot interrogate him much as she receives an urgent call from her mother. When she reaches home she finds out that her mother is missing and some kind of monster tries to attack her, at the right time the mysterious boy from the club saves her. This boy was Jace Wayland She faints and when she wakes up she realises that she is in a different place. From there she explores an entire different race of people called Shadowhunters (half human and half angel) and later also finds out that she herself is a Shadowhunter. In her journey she also finds out that she has some unique powers.
Mortal Instruments is one of my favourite book series and it genres are varied. It involves action, adventure, romance, drama and romance. A perfect blend of almost all the genres you need to find a book. I would honestly say that the first one is good but, not my favourite one from the series. I feel it is too short and it is one of the book where the action was kind of mild and short but, it is an important book nonetheless as it introduces you to all the important characters of the series.
Clary Fray is not one of my favourite characters as she is too extreme and and a lot of drams. However, Jace Wayland is good on action. Alec is one of the characters almost everyone ends up liking because he is cute and innocent and the only careful and logical guy in the group. Isabelle Lightwood, Alec’s sister is the badass kind of girl and her attitude is likeable. Magnus Bane (the warlock) and Jace are one of the biggest sources for hints of humours. A dynamic, sarcastic and humorous duo that everybody likes.
